Certified EMS personnel respond to emergency medical calls on Ewell, Rhodes Point, and Tylerton. TidalHealth McCready Pavilion in Crisfield, MD is closest medical facility.
Police

Somerset Central dispatches agencies, such as the Crisfield Police Department, Somerset County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police, and Maryland Natural Resources Police, as needed.
Preserving Smith Island - Its People, Culture, and Natural Beauty
Formed after Hurricane Sandy to ensure Smith Island is around for the next 400 years. Led by an Executive Committee composed of elected members from each Smith Island Community. An all volunteer and 501(c)(3) Organization which depends on donations, directly or through efforts such as Shore Gives More.

An all volunteer fire company, Station 1 is made up of a handful of great folks. Small in numbers but huge in heart with the ability to quickly respond to the needs of the community.

Smith Island has a long history as a faith-based community with a church in each village. Once Methodist, now non-denominational. Join us each Sunday and during the summer for Camp, which started over 135 years ago.
